No you can’t, all scholarship awards are entrance awards and cannot be applied for after the application deadline except the IYDP board or the bursary/scholarship committee decides to extend application beyond the initial application date deadline. If a student needs funding during the course of their study, they must apply for need-based financial aid.
Yes, as long as you meet all of the requirements outlined in the Scholarship Annual Renewal policy.
No, your scholarship award amount will not be increased, except on instance of unexpected increases in tuition fees by the institution where you are studying.
Yes, if you are not meeting the requirements of the Scholarship Semester Renewal Policy and other conditions stipulated by the IYDP board or bursary/scholarship awards committee, your scholarship award may be reduced.
Unfortunately, the bursary/scholarship can only be used to study only at any IYDP approved institutions of learning around the country-(South Africa).
This will depend on you meeting the selection criteria as well as other compelling non-academic reasons.
The IYDP believes in the spirit of give and take hence, being a volunteer or involvement in community service will definitely boost your chances of getting the bursary/scholarship provided other selection criteria are met.
Academic related expenses are paid directly to the institution of learning while non-academic expenses are disbursed to the student on a monthly regular basis. Expenses related to accommodation are paid directly to the accommodation provider.
The bursary/scholarship pays for a range of academic and non-academic expenses in part or in full required to study towards an approved qualification.
Applications for the 2017 academic year will close on the 31st of December 2016. All applicants will be invited for interview and both successful and unsuccessful will be advised of the outcome of their application.
No. You must first secure admission from participating institutions before you can apply for the IYDP bursary/scholarship
We recommend that you use the IYDP Online application system. If you do not have reliable internet access and are unable to apply online, you can request a hardcopy application form by sending an email or download directly from the IYDP website
The IYDP will communicate with every applicant via sms once an application is submitted.
Yes. The IYDP will contact all successful and unsuccessful applicants.
Due to the high volume of applications received, the IYDP does not provide individual feedback to unsuccessful applicants. There may be a number of reasons why an application does not pass through to the next stage.
Students are not expected to refund in part or in full any expenses incurred on them during their studies except where a student did not finish the funded program of study due to reason(s) that are deemed unreasonable to the IYDP.
